Timeline

Our wellbeing journey across time

Since 1993, Colbe – formerly Zorg van de Zaak Netwerk – has evolved from a small local initiative to a comprehensive wellbeing network combining broad expertise and spanning multiple locations. Over that time, our mission has evolved too.

1993

A national occupational health service

Founded in 1993 and expanded in the years that followed as De Twaalf Provinciën Landelijke Arbodienst. The original goal was to provide occupational health expertise across all regions of the Netherlands.

2004

Healthier businesses and people

As the company evolved, so did its scope. Our aim became to make “employers healthier in business terms and employees healthier personally”.

2009

There is no standstill

Inspired by the Swiss artist Tinguely's idea that “there is no standstill”, the network renewed focus on constant progression – of people, ideas, and organisations. With services from physical, social, and psychological interventions to consultancy, it helped wellbeing at work keep evolving.

2014

Care for your company

The business became Zorg van de Zaak, and consisted of several companies in the field of workplace healthcare. Our mission was to encourage people to keep participating in work & society, based on the belief that working makes people happier.

2017

Meaningful moments

A new strategy came into effect, with the intent to meaningfully help people at impactful moments in their life. This inspired new services like maternity care and addiction support.

2021

Everyone stronger at work

In the early 2020s, we sharpened our focus around a clear ambition: everyone stronger at work. This shift emphasised not just recovery or prevention, but building lasting strength – physically, mentally, and socially –across the workforce. By uniting expertise across our companies, the network aimed to support people and organisations in becoming more resilient.

2025

Collective betterment

As we relaunch the network as Colbe, we have focussed the organisation around the simple but powerful idea of Collective Betterment. Individualism and disconnection have taken a toll on our health and cohesion – beyond wellbeing services, we believe work must become a place of belonging, shared purpose, and mutual support for us all to truly thrive.
